Morning Coffee

Hello and good morning everyone! Well something interesting actually happened this morning. I turned up to work early, isn't that just great! Even after everything that happened last night I still managed to show up early to work. Boss was a little surprised and I was just happy to disappoint him. Lol.

So it's a new day and there are new opportunities out there. Always remember that it just takes one extra step from where you stopped the last time to record an improvement. So just as the cup above is advising you, get up and attack the day with enthusiasm. You are closer to your goal today than you might actually realize. Do not give up today, do not slow down, instead make an effort to make an improvement today.

Always remember "An inch more is better than nothing more". Keep pushing hard and you will the results of your hustle. Happy Monday!

Music and Lyrics: Patoranking ft Wande Coal - My woman (my everything)

Still in the spirit of TGIF I have selected this song that has been all over the airwaves in Nigeria and in Africa. You can't walk into any joint and sit for 30 mins without this song being played and when it come up you can't help but to 'Shoki' your way into the dance floor. I specifically remember a man that was 'shoki-ing' his way into the dance floor with a fluid abdominal motion...Very funny dance step. Anyway back to the song.  What is better than a good song, by 2 good artist, sending out a good message and to top it all up, it happens to be in the only genre that majority of Nigerians appreciate...Dance! A gift from these 2 artists to us is what I see.

Esit challenged me the last time I put up lyrics and I decided to write the lyrics to this one by myself instead of copying it from another website. I discovered most of the other sites make mistakes in the lyrics so I decided to try my luck and see how It would be. So compare the lyrics and the audio and feel free to correct my mistakes. I can as well make my own mistakes than copy and past theirs right? If only patoranking could just hand me his book of rhymes this would be much easier. Deciphering his patois was not easy at all and I know I didn't get it all but I fell it's still better than what I saw on other sites though.

So here it is. My woman by Patoranking and Wande Coal Find the Audio and Lyrics (lyrics written by me) after the cut

Oh and am I the only one that looks out for the fair girl that looks half cast dancing in the video each time it shows on TV. The girl was the life of the video. Lol...

Morning Coffee

Booyah! I come alive on Fridays! Good morning Fam! Do you know why I am so excited? Well I think you guys already know, I mean, it's Friday, A.k.a the most awesome day of the week, A.k.A Turn up A.k.A the proper day to Thank God A.k.A Boomshakalaka! So why in the world would I not be excited. I know I have been on and off a whole lot lately and it really got me thinking that maybe that's why I didn't win the last Nigerian blog Awards. Probably if I had gone for the category of laziest blogger I might have stood a chance. Who knows, I might even be too lazy to check the results of that one. Lol...

So It's Friday and as I said earlier in the week, just try and do something different today. Go to the movies, go to the swimming pool, go out of your way and do something you don't often do or something you haven't done before. Either way just do it with your friends and you will see how fun it's going to be.

The coffee cup today is advising you to take a load off and take it slow. Well you know that you have to listen to the cup so like a speeding car, gradually slow down the stressful aspect of your week until you come to a final halt. Then you can accelerate full speed into the fun part of the weekend.

Have a lovely weekend guys..TGIF!

Dip in the pool?...Anyone?

Partying, drinking, clubbing, dancing, smoking whatever! These are the things we usually go out to do in the name of fun. There are two facts that I have discovered that is almost 100% spot on when it comes to us who reside in Nigeria. Every time the word "fun" is applied in anything, we find a way of making it all about drinking and eating. I mean just think about it, when you and your friends "go out" or when the work "go out" comes up, the first thing you think about is the nearest pub or fast food joint. Anytime your boyfriend or girlfriend brings up anything about stepping out, your brain practically zeroes in on drinking and partying. However this is just because of the way we have conditioned our mind, drinking and partying isn't actually the fun in the whole thing. This brings me to my second fact which is that...The fun we actually have is because of the company that we have at that point....

Let me explain better.

Take an Extra Step

Improvement! That's the key word here. That's a very important aspect of our life. Everyday, we get up and carry out our different various activities in different categories of our life, with hope of improvement and getting better at what we do. However what most of us fail to realize is that improvement is a gradual process and not something that is rushed into. It is best to improve gradually because the thought of the work that you have to put in, in order to improve yourself to the extent that you are looking at, at once could discourage your mind. We all know how important your mind state is in anything you do, the last thing you want to do is to discourage your mind. So for you to get better at what you do, there is just one way and one thing I would like you to do today, I would like you to take an extra step....

Morning Coffee

Good morning fam and anyone else reading. How are you this morning. You see the writing beside that cup? I want you to take it very seriously. You know why? I'll tell you why of cos...

The world is suffering from an epidemic, a disease that has been around since the beginning of time.  We underestimate the power of this disease and yet, it's destroying lives all over the world. It's ending careers, destroying homes and families and relationships of all sorts. It's very deadly, the worst part of it all is that we are all carrying it in us. We all have it in our blood and once in a while we contribute to spreading this disease without even knowing it. What is the name of this disease you ask? It's Negativity....

Hard work vs Talent

Last month our focus was on hard work and dedication. I told you guys that this is an essential part of our everyday life. If you want to make it in life then these two things are a must for you to focus on as you navigate the turbulent waters of life on your path to success. Well I have decided to keep writing on it every once in a while and bring you people different hints, share knowledge and even share some personal experience on it.

So today what I want to talk on is on Hard work and Talent. Do you believe that Hard work can beat talent? A hard working person and a person that is naturally talented in a field, who do you feel would excel more? I'll love your opinion but I would tell you mine.

Let's do this...

Who is doing Who a favor?

And the war between men and women rages on....I'm loving my view from the bench. These front row seats to the gender wars is just awesome! Yeap, you head that right, you can all go ahead and hate each other but I've always sat this sort of thing out and i'll keep sitting it out. heheheh...

Now before we dive into the topic I want to ask you a question. Between a man and a woman, who do you think is really doing who a favor. Ask yourself this question and have your answer by heart. By the time we are finished you might change your answer and have a whole new view of things or you might still keep to your answer who knows. Either way just read up on the post below.  Alright then...Let's get this started.

Music - Rihanna/Kanye West/Paul McCartney - Four Five Seconds (reggae remix)

Here is a little something to get your soul lifted this morning. Well the tune actually is good to get you lifted, I don't know how you will react to the words but nonetheless It's very good music. This is the original song "Four Five Seconds" performed by Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney, however it has a reggae vibe to it. It was remixed and some reggae instrumentals made it more lively than the original Tune. Not like we didn't enjoy the original one but this remix gives you a little more push if you know what I mean. If not just listen to the song and you'll understand better when your head starts nodding or when you start imitating a typical Rastafarian's dance step.

The song has really nice lyrics and come to think of it, today is the perfect day to play this one seeing that we actually have "just 3 more days to Friday" as the song goes.

Well enough of me, listen to the tune after the cut and learn the song via the lyrics which you'll also catch after the cut.
