Monday Myth: STI's are for players and cheaters only

Hello again everyone! I have to say it still feels really good to be back. While I was out on my, should I call it sabbatical leave? Well...I had the chance to hangout a couple of times with the peeps from the office and as usual, I got to learn a whole lot of things from people. The way people generally think, their ideologies and the way they perceive things. I am going to be spreading these things I learnt during this break through my Myths, facts and Tips as the weeks go by. So today we are starting with if STI (s3xually transmitted infections) are for Player and cheaters only.

After the gist that came up and the inconclusive arguments we had among ourselves, I still can't believe what some people believe. Sometimes I honestly feel people choose to believe in a particular thing because in a way they feel ignorance is going to be a form of protection for them. I honestly don't know how that works. Well the truth is that there are some natural phenomenons and laws that just can't be broken because of ignorance. Like not knowing about pregnancy doesn't mean that you will never get pregnant or get a girl pregnant. Anyways the main issue today is this.... According to some peoples beliefs. They feel that as long as you are not a cheater or a player, you can never get an STI and you do not need to go for any kind of test.

First of all I think because they are called STI's people believe that the only way they can be transmitted is through that particular means (by engaging in intimacy). This is absolutely wrong. They are called STI's because that is a classification for those kind of infections but it doesn't mean that it is the only possible way they can be transmitted. Not at all, they can be transmitted in several other ways so everyone still needs to be careful. Some of these diseases still fall under other classification like airborne and water borne diseases so you can't use only one classification to make conclusions.

Yes these diseases are more common to those who are s3xually active but it still doesn't mean that others who aren't active or those who aren't having multiple partners cannot be infected. Take for example, HIV. I'm sure everyone knows that you do not have to get down with a partner to be infected by it. A simple exchange or contact with the blood of a carrier is enough to give it to you. Also some STI's can be contaminated through food and water. Now cheater or not, you have to eat right? What happens when you then eat a contaminated food, get contaminated and still feel you don't have any infection simply because "you don't cheat". I'll tell you what happens, you are going to go ahead and transfer it to your partner when you both do whatever it is you do in your bedroom.

The best thing to do is get yourself checked every once in a while to make sure that you are clean and free from any infections. Cheat or no cheat, it is still possible for you to get infected. Also, ignorance wouldn't save you from this one, it's best to be informed. Finally I just want to say that the fact that you don't cheat doesn't mean your partner doesn't cheat, if he/she gets it from somewhere else and you are both active then you will have it as well.

Get yourself checked every once in a while no matter what.

Daddy welcome from your sabbatical.
Another ignorance 101 is the people that believe oral sex equals no STIs.
No booboos, if you're engaging in the " we're doing it but we're not actually doing it kinna sex", you can still get STIs.
Get checked!

Lmao@Daddy.

I actually wrote on the oral STI transmission but people hardly believe it, I really wonder why. It's basic stuff. Maybe you should write an article esit so that i'll put it up. It should be more believable when it's coming form a doctor.
