Tuesday Tip: Christmas Secret Santa

         

Christmas is a season for giving. So why not try something new this year with your family. Here is an idea, I actually picked it up while watching a movie and decided to share with you guys. You write down names of everybody in your family or your office on a separate piece of paper and fold them up. It would help if your numbers are even, it would balance things out.
    Get everybody to draw a piece of paper with a name and when they open it up, whatever name they see on it, they would have to buy a gift for the person. The person who buys a gift for you is your Christmas Secret Santa.


If you are in a family and your kids are still too young to handle money on their own. Then you can bring out a little money and give each person then take them to a shop where they can go around and buy things for the person they picked. You would be the person paying for all the gifts though. Lol. You can also decide to buy a gift for everybody along with they gifts each Secret Santa bought, if you wish.

When the gifts are read and wrapped up, each person should tuck his or her own away under the family or office Christmas tree. I am guessing you have Christmas trees now, I told you guys about it last week during the last Tuesday Tip. Don't worry if you forgot to buy. Just gather up some elephant grass in one corner of the house and sprinkle cut up blue and red ribbons as decoration on it. Lol, don't mind me, just kidding.
    Anyway you tuck the gifts away under the Christmas tree and on Christmas day everybody opens up their own. It would really be a good surprise for the family and could be a good tradition that would bring the family closer during the holiday season. So you can choose to do this every Christmas from now on if you like the idea.

Make sure that nobody knows what the other person bought and for whom they are buying, that is the reason why it is called a "Secret Santa". One more thing you could do is to do the draw yourself and choose who buys for who.
