Dear Ralph: Cell phones in church



Baba Ralph I hail,
                 I've been reading your blog for a while now and I must say you have done well so far, keep it up. Now to the matter at hand. I was at church yesterday morning and an important phone call that I had been waiting for came in. I took the call and a church warden rudely walked up to me and snatched my phone. Things got heated up and I was sent out but that isn't the problem. The call was on a job I have been waiting so I was still going to leave the church. I wasn't talking too loud and this guy came and snatched my phone. Well I got home and narrated what went down to my sister and she said I was wrong for answering the call a couple of friends also took her side when I asked them later that evening. So I told my friends that we would bring this matter here settle it jokingly, anyway what do you think Ralph? should I have given up on my contract because of the church rules and what people feel.

Dear Tunde,
            I hail you pass. Lol. I won't say that you did the right thing by taking the call in the church. But give me a while to explain why I say so. You see I believe that every place has it;s do's and don'ts and that you should respect the rules if you must be involved in it's activities. The church obviously has a rule stating that your cell phones should be switched off during service and you should have abided by it. It's simple really, you should have just stayed back and taken care of your business, before going for the  church service. The church placed that rule so you can stay concentrated in the message being sent for that day so you can't really blame them, although I still do believe the church warden should have taken a more subtle approach. Try to leave your phone at home or switch it off next time okay? It really is just a couple of hours from your 24 hours. I hope I helped clear things up.

U shldnt av picked d call in the church. U shld av stepped out of d church auditorium so as not to disturb other worshipers. The ushers couldn't av stopped u if u wanted to step out na, atleast pple go to rest rooms in d church. Most importantly u culd v ignored d call as a sign of respect to God, n call d caller after service, or send a text after cutting d call stating that u r in church.
