Dear ralph: My feet hurt after workout

My feet and knees hurt badly after my workout. I do a lot of cardio like running, skipping and many more, I get really pumped up when I have to workout and at times I bear the pain but recently its been getting really bad. Any suggestions?



   Good day anonymous. Your problem could be the way you contact the floor during exercises, you see jumping exercises and running both work your leg muscles but you need to learn the proper way to make with contact the ground when doing those. When you run try to push off with the balls of your feet which is just behind your toes and under your foot of course, make sure that its not your toes or heels absorbing most of the impact when you land but the balls of your foot or almost mid-foot if possible. Jogging is more of a low impact workout and your strides wont be as long as when you run so you can land on your heels as long as you land softly...
 
   But when engaging in  jumping exercises all you need to do is keep does toes spread out and keep landing with the balls of your feet each time you contact the ground, that should give you more balance, reduce the energy you expend and reduce the pain. Make sure that when you jump you land softly to also ease up the pain on your knees but don't land on your toes. Also get the correct shoes for training because that could be another cause of your problem, there are some shoes that specify the areas of your foot you should concentrate on by using a different colors to mark them out so you could look into that also. Remember to always to keep your toes spread out for that balance.
 
  P.S: If the pains persists or you feel any sharp pain do not continue, go see a doctor to be sure of what the problem is.
