Midnight thoughts

   

        Good morning Fam! Hope you all had a wonderful night. Do you guys want to know how mine went? No?....ummmm...either ways i'm still going to go ahead and tell you so take a sit. I had one of those strange nights, you know the ones when you wake up in the middle of the night in utter confusion and can't tell up from down. Yeah, mine was so bad that I couldn't even tell what day of the week it was. This hadn't happened to me in a long time so I was thrown into more confusion when it started. I still wonder if it was the suspense from the whole election thingy or something else lurking in my mind. Well since I couldn't sleep I sat up on my bed and decided it was the perfect opportunity to do something that I didn't do last night before I slept.




  You see I have a habit of reflecting through everyday day just as it's about to come to an end. This helps me analyze my mistakes and flaws, prepare for the next day and re-live the good memories of the present day. So while I was revisiting my day, there was a particular memory that made me smile to myself and really stay appreciative for the humility that was knocked into me as a child (yes it was knocked in and yes I like to think i'm humble, plus the person in this next gist confirmed it). So this was what happened...

When I received the list of nominees in the ongoing NBA Awards, I decided to check my category and see my competition. I took a look at the other blogs and Oh boy! I almost shut down my PC with fear, I mean have you guys taken a look at those other blogs?!!  However I stopped halfway to clicking the "Shut down" button on my laptop and told myself to keep it together. As I looked through every single blog I was truly impressed. Let me first of all say kudos to everyone in the "best new blog" category in the Awards, we rock right?! yeah!! So anyways, there was this particular one that captured my attention and you might have noticed it if you have voted or heard about it at least. I'm talking of none other than http://everydaytibs.blogspot.com/ . Wow! if you haven't been there then you just have to go check it out and see for yourself. I was even tempted to steal some ideas from her blog...yes i'm guilty as charged. Anyways moving on...After checking out her blog I was so impressed with what the admin was doing there that I decided to write to her. I also have to admit that I paused a couple of times while typing my e-mail wondering the kind of reply I might receive or if she was going to reply at all but guess what?...I said guess!...yes, she replied!!! Although in her reply, she mentioned how humbled she felt by my email but honestly speaking, I am the one humbled by her reply. Also guess what everyone... she put up an update on her own blog and told her blog visitors to come check us out!!! Now how awesome is that huh? I mean, if we were to host an all out Awesomeness contest between Erneisa and Ralph  right here and now, don't you think she would take it home?

So with that I want to say a big welcome to anyone visiting for the first time either through Erneisha T's blog or any other place. I really hope you guys feel welcome and free enough to participate in my little blog. Nothing wrong with joining another family right? So on behalf of myself, Freeborn Zina, Adewale, Esit, Haaj, S, Mimi, Brielle, Patricia,rauzy, newton paul and every other member of the ever growing AskRalph family (sorry if I didn't mention your name, we too plenty but I no fit shout)I just want to say welcome aboard. Oh and Erneisha said one thing to me via the reply she sent. She said "Win or loose, we are all winners" and those words struck deep. They go beyond just this competition to every aspect of our life. It shows a very good mind state and it's something I want you all to try and adopt. Nothing better than a healthy competition and good sportsmanship (or sportswomanship...is there a word like that my people? if not we should consider adding it, I might open an AskRalph dicitionary for weird words. lol).
